The Crumlin native is set to step up two weight divisions to take on Nate Diaz at UFC 196 after his original opponent Rafael dos Anjos pulled out of the fight due to injury.
Taking to Instagram, Conor has already begun taunting his new opponent as he shared a snap of the fighters pictured face to face at the pre-fight conference with the caption, “I see a fajita.”
Meanwhile, Conor has predicted that he will knock out Nate in the first round, similar to his win against Jose Aldo.
“His soft body and his lack of preparation, he will not be able to handle the ferocity. End of the first I feel he will be put away,” he told a news conference at the UFC Gym in Torrance, California.
“There’s a respect there between us but it’s business in there and business is business. He will be KO’d inside the first round.”
No bother: Conor doesn’t care about weight as long as he gets paid | VIPIRELAND.COM
Speaking about having to go up two weight divisions in less than two weeks, he doesn’t seem too bothered as long as he gets paid at the end of the day.
“I don’t care about weight. It makes no difference to me. As long as there’s an opponent and a date, you’ll see me here.
“The only weight I care about is the weight of them cheques, and my cheques are always super-heavyweight,” he added.
